On this, the last day of the year of our Lord 2019, I wish to express sincere gratitude to my family, friends, neighbors and clients.

The quality of my life is rich because of my relationships with you and I thank you for a wonderful year.

2020 will be grand! At least I hope so. I’m excited about my new studio space in Portland and the podcast, and I have several exciting and important legal cases developing.

My New Year’s resolution is to be a better, more informed, more generous and courageous person and to take more seriously my responsibility as a steward of American culture.

I want to live more fully my values and I will continue to fight because I have the warrior gene.

But I will strive to add good juju to the universe, too! And begin by reciting this poem about bliss by the late great Toni Morrison.

It Comes Unadorned, By Toni Morrison

It comes

Unadorned

Like a phrase

Strong enough to cast a spell;

It comes

Unbidden,

Like the turn of sun through hills

Or stars in wheels of song.

The jeweled feet of women dance the earth.
Arousing it to spring.

Shoulders broad as a road bend to share the weight of years.

Profiles breach the distance and lean
Toward an ordinary kiss.
Bliss.

It comes naked into the world like a charm.

Happy New Year!
